Bootcamps - by Mad Mule trainer, Rich.... " 9 months of bootcamp training in the Royal Marines, to become a Royal Marine, was tough, arduous, survival of the fittest and presented a daily question of doubt over everyones head. It was intended to break people, and it did. I have no idea to this day how I managed to pull through at the age of 16, passing as 1 of 23 originals, from 55 starters. For many years I have pushed myself on and subsequently had the privilege of working with elite athletes who have hungered to experience a good thrashing. And here's the point. That is exactly what a "bootcamp" session is. A thrashing. It is not to be confused with a progressional, functional, planned series of hard training sessions, such as our very own H.I.L.L or R.A.M.P. These are coached, with time outs for explanation, demonstration and imitation. Fun, developing confidence and movement in a mature professional manner."
It is a thrashing. You are expected to deliver without being asked twice. The session will leave many feeling:
Groggy and bit light headed Doubtful of ability Weak in areas they thought they were strong
It's never to humiliate or put someone down. Very rarely is there much shouting involved or forcing someone to move faster. This approach alone will test an individuals ability to continue. All too often an individual wants to be shouted at to give them purpose. There will only be positive talk and you alone will have to do the shouting for motivation. Bootcamps are a test and this one is a test of movement, agility, stamina, strength, power, resolve, confidence, self esteem and self confidence."
Mad Mule M.A.X camp– Movement Agility ‘Xtreme Hand over the reigns and become the Mad Mule. This is a BOOTCAMP session. A no holds barred thrashing of a lifetime on the shores of Bournemouth beach. Are you training for your first Mudstacle challenge or requiring a true test of all round fitness and movement ability? The Mad Mule M.A.X will deliver. We will tap into your final reserves when you think there is nothing left. Training is about preparing you for the long term goal or event. This session is to be used as a testing event to help you adapt your current training programme. It is not a training session. It is a maximal testing session. So expect this session to be asking some questions of your physical and mental capabilities. Go mad for the mule in you!

90 minute group session. You are the mule. There is a requirement to demonstrate agility, strength, endurance, speed, flexibility, mental toughness, power, coordination and a sense of humour when the pressure is on. Led by former Royal Marine, 15 years personal trainer, 4th tough guy Spring offensive 2015, Mad Mule Driver Rich O’Connor Beach. Waves. Stairs. Load carry. Crawls. Waves. Beach. Pushing. Pulling. Lifting. Throwing. Stairs. We tend to find most people find their sense of humour at the end of these sessions over the coffee.
Mad Mule provide spotters to keep an eye for anyone who is struggling, all of whom are first aid trained. You will be asked to sign a disclaimer before participating in the session.
Ability Level Guidelines A physical condition that will cope with extreme physical activities… Currently running 5km under 26 minutes and 10km under 55 minutes. Or Regular participant in Crossfit, boxing, martial arts, competitive sport Or Have completed Tough Guy or Tough Mudder without walking ( or equivalents) Or Wish to complete Tough Guy or Tough Mudder without walking (or equivalents) Or A history of training frequently at high intensity with a desire to find out where you could improve. Or A teenage sprout who wants to toughen up before heading off to face the world.
